I honestly wish I could give less than one star, because not even that is deserved. The people we were working with waited for us to sign the lease and pay the security deposit and rent to tell us that the property was being sold and we would no longer be going through them. When I say they waited, I mean the literal moment we were handed the keys, they told us "Oh, by the way, this property is on the market and once it's sold, you'll have new landlords - good luck."
The team at Remax is exceptional. I've had positive experiences in both renting through Remax as well as purchasing a home. Each transaction has been a very smooth process thanks to the hard work put in by the employees there and they will go the extra mile to ensure that their customers are happy with their homes.
The staff are very helpful and courteous. Jason helped me resolve some issues. The whole process of listing with Remax was straight forward and worry free for the most part. The staff did a great job at answering my questions and resolving issues.
The new landlord completely changed our lease and was not given any of the information on prior damages to the house. We are now forced to stay in a lease MUCH longer than we initially signed. We were not allowed to have any of our money back if we didn't agree to resign the lease, so we were up a creek thanks to ReMax.
This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with... EVER!!! They are completely unethical! We are currently trying to get our security deposit, and have encountered nothing but lies and troubles the whole way. We held off calling corporate because we thought that if we did, they would find a way to screw us in the deposit check. We have contacted corporate, but anyone else that has had trouble with them and knows other avenues for us to take, please let us know. Judging by the other reviews, it is common practice for them to lie, cheat, and manipulate. Run, run, run away from this company and don't look back!
Just following up with the managers response in reference to my accurate review. Yes, my mother did move out because she lost her husband and had a change of heart. We had no issues paying your $600 early termination fee. Once again as for the lease, it does not state it is mandatory to hire a professional cleaning team, it only states shall and in the event it is not cleaned to standards...etc. My grievance here is the condition and cleanliness of the property at move in compared to move out. $150 for a couple photos of a strand of hair. Your welcome in advance for thoroughly cleaning it ourselves after the disaster it was given to us. I guess that speaks for itself that this is not at all about the cleaning standards here but about the conning fees. Best of luck to you as well Jane.
ReMax doesn't deserve even one star after putting us in such a bind, but I feel the need to warn other people about their malicious intent.
I took the time to read some previous reviews and let me tell you I believe them to be true. I rented a home for my 63 year old Mom and it was just filthy when she moved in. I had to request and plead to send out the carpet cleaner to "reclean" the supposedly already cleaned carpet and believe me, it was not cleaned. Dead bugs throughout the house, spider eggs in windows, should I go on? Pee stains around the toilets! We spent a lot of time cleaning this place up when she moved in because it was never cleaned and kept it spic and span clean upon her early departure. She only lived there for one month because she terminated her lease early and was charged $72.00 for a burned out light bulb and a dead garage door battery for the remote!! $72.00!! The only bulb I saw was the one in the oven and I noted that at move in. The remote was actually dead when we moved in but me missing that on the move in inspection, totally my fault! $150.00 for cleaning because the lease states "the tenant should have the home professionally cleaned. More revenue for them I guess if it's done that way. Last time I checked, should is different from shall or will and I have plenty of before and after photos. $75 to reclaim the security deposit! This unethical practice of "nickel and diming" tenants is just wrong! The check for the security deposit was also off by $422.00 on top of all of this! If you choose to rent from here, good luck dealing with the management, unprofessional, inexperienced, and mediocre at best.
